Cameroonian Cooking Class, Lesson 1: Pepper Soup

28 February 2007 - 10:49am -- Joseph

Recently we met up with Freida's son, Eddie, and his girlfriend, Preseline. They offered to give us a Cameroonian Cooking lesson, which we readily accepted. We've been dying to know how to cook pepper soup (pronounced 'pepe soup' here).

So on Tuesday we met Preseline at the market, ans she showed us what to buy. Then it was back to Eddie's for the real lesson. We didn't really do much of it ourselves, I peeled the plantain, and Hev observed in the kitchen and ground some spices. As usual Hev's beat me to it in terms of posting about events, so rather than reproduce details of the recipe here, I refer you to my wife's documenting of how to cook pepper soup.

It's not too complicated, and fun to do, though there are some ingredients that will be hard to come by in England...
