'Gis a job...

17 October 2005 - 7:12pm -- Joseph

No, I've not been sacked.

On Saturday, Hev and I went to Forum 3, a careers fair for the not-for-profit and voluntary sector, at the business design centre in Islington (posh building, nice area, good pubs).

The reason (apart from the pubs)?

We've both always wanted to go volunteering overseas at some point. Over the past year, we've been trying to sort something out, with little success so far...

We've looked at huge amount of organisations, some of whom we've ruled out, or who have ruled us out. If anyone has any ideas on organisations to speak to, or places we may be of use, we'd be interested to hear about it.

I'm looking to do something with e-learning, Web development, IT support/training, and also have a TESOL qualification to teach English.

Heather is a senior staff nurse on an acute surgical ward. We both have ~5 years experience in our respective fields (not my English teaching though, my professional experience of that is limited).

In terms of location, we don't really mind - anywhere we can both be of use without getting our heads blown off...

Anyone got any ideas...?
