Marlborough Downs Mountain Boarding

29 August 2004 - 8:32pm -- Joseph

I went mountain boarding on the Marlborough downs with friends yesterday, in aid of a friend's birthday (Happy birthday Lewis!).
Mountain boarding is basically like nicotine patches for Snowboard freaks. It's a snowboard-like board (but smaller) with with Skateboard like undercarriage, except with much bigger, air-filled wheels to enable them to run on rough terrain. it's a bit like Skateboarding, but more like snowboarding.
It was good fun, we had a short lesson, then were left to our own devices on this big(ish) hill. They also had a pretty nifty 'ski-lift' facility, which basically involved a quad-bike and a rope...

I'd recommend it for a fun day out, they're closing down until next summer pretty much now, but I'd definitely recommend Marlborough Downs Mountain Boarding for next spring.

Put it in the diary, maybe next year I'll try the ramp.
