Who'd have thunk it? Not Owen, by the sounds of it. Seems as though be a model professional and getting your head down has got him approximately nowhere. No disrespect to Newcastle you understand, but they're not in the best of shape at the moment, out of Europe, played four, scored none, lost three. Hardly an ideal destination for the greatest English striker of his generation.
Seems he'd have been better getting caught drunk in nightclubs to raise his profile, and stamping his feet until he gets a starting place/favourable transfer.
But no, he was professional, courteous and considerate at all times.
Result? He got shafted.
That's about as damning an enditment of the current state of the professional game as you're likely to find...
