Mari

11 March 2005 - 1:16pm -- Joseph

A few weeks ago, I had some very sad news. A friend of mine, Mari Hyndman, died of a Heart attack. She was 25. It's hard to find any words to say about such an event, but on the other hand, Mari's death is very much on my mind at the moment, so I feel I should write something.
Mari had heart troubles, which all her friends (and there are many) knew about. This perhaps should have prepared us for the fact that Mari might be taken from us too soon. It hasn't. Sometimes forewarned is not forearmed.

Mari was full of life. I know that sounds painfully trite, but it has to be said of Mari, because it is oh so true. Her enthusiaism for so many things was infectious, I can hear her voice in my head, her distinctive Romanian accent enthusing about so many things.

Mari had many friends and will be sorely missed by all of them. See had a vulnerability which sometimes made you feel protective of her, but at the same time, she had such strength, energy and wisdom. She inspired me and taught me alot, both professionally and about life in general. I owe Mari alot.

There will be a memorial for Mari in the next few months. There is also a website in memory of Mari, which will publish details of the service when arrangements have been made.
I'm not sure what else I can say.
I miss you Mari.
